  • AUTHOR(S): P. Trifonov, K. Anastasov, H. Hristov, I. Aleksandrova
  • ABSTRACT: In this article, the methods for manufacturing of bi-metal blanks for cutting tools were systematized. A comparative study of these methods was made on the productivity, shape complexity and strength features of the blanks. The possibilities to apply the Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) method for the production of bi-metal blanks by using of tool steel Catamold M2 and construction steel Catamold 42CrMo4 as initial material were established. The conducted survey of the microstructure of the bonding layer between the two metals showed presence of a wide diffusion zone, which proved that the bonding was good.

THE INFLUENCE OF CUTTING FORCES ON POWER CHARACTERISTICS OF HIGH-SPEED CHUCK

  • TITLE: THE INFLUENCE OF CUTTING FORCES ON POWER CHARACTERISTICS OF HIGH-SPEED CHUCK
  • AUTHOR(S): F.W.El-Dahabi, T.G.Jabbour, M.A.Abdulwahab
  • ABSTRACT: The effect of cutting forces on the clamping force in high-speed chucks been analyzed at different rotational speeds of the spindle, these speeds determine the magnitude of the centrifugal forces of the unbalanced chucks. the above considerations, design schemes and analytical dependencies can be used to design high-speed clamping chucks under given cutting conditions.

  • AUTHOR(S): K. Trojan, N. Ganev, S. Němeček, J. Čapek, J. Němeček
  • ABSTRACT: The manufacturing processes of machine component introduce residual stresses (RS) that have an essential influence on their behaviour during service life. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the RS distribution of welds joined using high power diode laser. The paper outlines the capability of X-ray diffraction to describe a state of RS of high pressure welds made of P355 steel. The results from this paper show that laser welding has application potential in the welding of steels for pressure equipment.

PERFORMANCE OF DIFFERENT TWISTED TAPE INSERTS IN TURBULENT TUBE FLOW – CRITICAL REVIEW

  • TITLE: PERFORMANCE OF DIFFERENT TWISTED TAPE INSERTS IN TURBULENT TUBE FLOW – CRITICAL REVIEW
  • AUTHOR(S): D. Kostadinova, V. Petkov
  • ABSTRACT: There are different kinds of inserts employed in the heat exchanger tubes such as helical/twisted tapes, coil wires, ribs/fins/baffles, and winglets. This paper presents performance evaluation of some twisted tape inserts, using a simple evaluation criterion to assess the possible energy benefit. Twisted tape inserts, classical and modified, with different geometrical parameters with working fluids as air or water in the range have been taken into consideration.
