• ABSTRACT: This paper views the resources and methods of financing the modern healthcare systems. Especially emphasized are social and private health insurance schemes, as well as the health insurance based on increased personal responsibility – Singapore model. Taking into con-sideration the specific situation in Bulgaria, this paper presents some methods for improving the financing of Bulgarian healthcare system.
